Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. The SLP collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence, safety, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings
- Provide skilled speech-language pathology services, including treatment for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding treatment goals and strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation team members, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and care planning conferences
- Ensure compliance with all professional standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Texas licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship candidates may be considered
- Skilled nursing facility (SNF) and/or long-term care experience preferred
- Knowledge of current speech-language pathology treatment practices
- Experience with electronic medical documentation systems preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
