Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. The SLP collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence, safety, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings
  • Provide skilled speech-language pathology services, including treatment for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding treatment goals and strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation team members, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and care planning conferences
  • Ensure compliance with all professional standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current Texas licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship candidates may be considered
  • Skilled nursing facility (SNF) and/or long-term care experience preferred
  • Knowledge of current speech-language pathology treatment practices
  • Experience with electronic medical documentation systems preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
